中華隊本屆首金由舉重女將許淑淨拿下，參加女子58公斤級的郭婞淳接力登場，面對兩名泰國對手夾擊，以抓舉102公斤、挺舉129公斤、總和231公斤拿下一面銅牌，並進帳國光獎金500萬與彰銀加碼的100萬獎金。金牌則由泰國選手蘇甘雅以總和240公斤拿臺南市新營區全美語補習班下，也是泰國在女子舉重第2金。
